During our four months of travel across South America one place that we kept reminiscing about was our road trip to Atacama desert in Northern Chile. This land may not see a drop of rain for years. The Atacama Desert extends from just south of the Peruvian and Chilean border 600 miles south into Chile never exceeding 100 miles in width. We spent a total of 5 days in San Pedro de Atacama.
